What is the difference between a modular home and a site-built home?
A modular home is a stick-built home that is built inside of a temperature-controlled building. All of the construction materials are stored indoors to prevent any damage from the weather. A modular home is built in sections to allow for easy transportation. These homes are built at least as well as, if not better than, a traditional site-built home. Once the home is set on the foundation, it is considered a part of the property and will appreciate in value just as any site built home does.
How long does this process take?
From the date that the home is ordered, it takes seven to nine months until it is ready for moving in. That time frame includes the house being built in the factory and Mid Star completing all the site work.
Are modular homes covered by warranty?
Ritz-Craft offers a limited one-year warranty and a ten-year structural warranty. Mid Star Home Builders, LLC also offers a one-year service warranty on their site work.
Can I make changes to the floorplan?
Of course, floor plan changes can be made. The cost for the changes made will vary depending on the floor plan and the extent of the changes.
